Process

METHOD

  • Shows are kicked off with a group email to past participants requesting involvement and it is forwarded to any who may be interested.
  • There is a kick off meeting/meet & greet where founders and participants gather to discuss the theme for the show and any format changes since the last one.
  • Writers email first drafts of their plays to the group via email/share them on the wiki.
  • The writers group meets to discuss/workshop first drafts.
  • Post group feedback, scripts are rewritten and the same process repeated, if necessary.
  • Founders search for appropriate venue given the script content of the show.
  • Any writers needing further help break off into one-to-one sessions.
  • Final drafts are presented to group, posted to site, and directors matched with plays when writers do not wish to direct their own work.
  • There is either a group casting or individual sessions according to the needs of the piece.
  • Rehearsals progress in individual groups.
  • Midway-through there is a group rehearsal to check progress, running times, etc.
  • Rehearsals progress in individual groups.
  • Directors meet to discuss set needs.
  • Dress rehearsal in venue, creases are ironed out.
  • The show takes place for one night and is broadcast live online.
